We’ll do things in the morning

Whenever I go to Henley-on-Thames railway station to collect a pre-ordered ticket from the machine, which is quite often, I have to remember to go in the morning.

By the afternoon, the sun is shining straight onto the screen, making it almost impossible to read.

The machine doesn’t have to be in that place.  You’d have thought those who installed it might have considered the effect of sunlight on glass—but I guess they were there on a dull day or in the morning.

So, when it comes to using the ticket machine, as Pooh said to Tigger, ‘we’ll do things in the morning’.

  1. I loathe this modern technology! Oh for the happy days of stations without machines and barriers, train doors you could open yourself and platform tickets.
