Not all hot air

There is a little-known ladies’ loo in the Houses of Parliament, right by St Stephen’s entrance.  It is not waymarked, but it is not out of bounds.

Go up the main steps, through the heavy doors, turn right up a few more steps and through an archway, then immediately left before you hit the phone box.

A nice feature is that it has a real towel, not just hot-air machines (unlike other rooms in Parliament!)web parliament loo

and at the entrance there is a drinking fountain—rather transatlantic and very civilised.

This reminded me of the beginning of the novel Appletree Yard. I hope it didn’t carry on the same way!
