The Archers wake up to Brexit

The Archers seem to be on another planet.  They have only just noticed that we are leaving the EU, nine months after the referendum.  Shula and Alistair talked about it briefly on yesterday’s programme, the day Theresa May triggered article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty—I don’t recall another Archers discussion of this.

And it was boringly balanced: on the one hand Brian is a leaver, on the other David is a remainer. No surprises there.

But at least they are more clued up about slowing traffic through villages: if they can encourage the use of speed monitors that’s all to the good.  Motorists regularly ignore the 30-mph speed limit through my local villages in Bucks, and I am pleased that there has been a speed monitor over the last few weeks in Skirmett which may help.
