The picture below, from The Guardian of 7 May* was captioned: ‘Staff at the Nightingale hospital in Cardiff listen to an opening address by Prince Charles’.

Hardly.  By my count, at least one third of those photographed were looking at their mobile phones or laptops, not listening at all.

I sent this as a letter for publication but it did not appear.  Annoyingly, the online version of the picture has a different caption: ‘Social distancing during the opening of the Dragon’s Heart hospital in Cardiff last month.’  I wish The Guardian would not have different digital and paper editions.  In this case, the online version is the accurate one: social distancing not listening.
