Step change

In April this year I walked every path in my home parish of Turville in Bucks, as a contribution to the Ramblers’ path-check. One of the problems I reported was the crumbling bank on the north side of Dolesden Lane at its junction with footpath 19. You walked steeply southwards across a field from Turville Court and spilled out onto the narrow road, along which vehicles come too fast.

I reported this to Bucks County Council and I am pleased that, six months later, it has installed steps, making the path much safer.

It goes to show that it is worth checking paths and reporting problems. Thanks Bucks County Council.
